Smartphone battery 20% - 80%: legend or truth?

There are those who say that it should be recharged when the percentage reaches 20%, those who say 25% etc etc.
As for the maximum %, some suggest not to go beyond 80% otherwise the battery will be ruined.
Still others argue the opposite and therefore suggest recharging it up to 100%.

A lot of phones these days have a system where they charge to 80% only. Then once a week they go to 100%. However I think you'll find this interesting to save everyone repeating urban myths.
