Hello. I'm Luc.
Looks like I may be getting back to Trinity. Last time I used it was in 2011, still in the Pearson Computing mailing list era. Good times.
Anyway, I am struggling with configuring views in Konqueror. Every time I launch it or open a new tab to browse files, it gives me the Icon View.
I don't like the Icon View. I want the Detailed List View.
I know how to select Detailed List View. But then I re-launch Konqueror or open a new tab, and there is the Icon View again.
I have tried Settings -> Save View Profiles -> File Management, but it seems to have no effect. Konqueror is very adamant about the Icon View.
Is there a fix or secret trick for that?

Welcome to the forum
Please try selecting Detailed List View, then Settings → Save View Profile → File Management and make sure you save/overwrite the profile. If it still always comes back as Icon View, could you please post the output of:
$ tde-config --version
Also, which Q4OS version and Trinity version are you using? That will help determine whether this is a Konqueror/Trinity regression.

Hi. Thanks.
I already tried Settings → Save View Profile → File Management. It doesn't work.
$ tde-config --version
-bash: tde-config: command not found
(shrug) It doesn't work over SSH. Strange...
Qt: 3.5.0
TDE: R14.1.5
tde-config: 1.0
Q4OS version and Trinity version:
not sure, but it's the current live image available for download, q4os-6.8-x64-tde.r1.iso

Are you running from live .iso or installed system?

Installed. Installed from the live .iso.

Well, that just works here, we are not able to reproduce the issue you reported. Please try the exact same steps:
- Reboot and login
- Click Main menu > Documents > Konqueror starts
- Change to "Detailed list view"
- click Settings -> Save View Profile "File Management" > Ok
- Log out/in
- Click Main menu > Documents > Konqueror starts
Is the profile again on icon view?

Hi.
I did all that. It didn't work. So I gave up and shut down.
Turned it on again today and it was finally working as expected.
I guess I was expecting it to set my option on the fly, but it requires a logout or reboot.
Application shortcuts weren't working either. They work now after the reboot.
OK then. Thank you.
