I decided to try Quarkos on one of the most notorious unfriendly Linux devices out there the Cherry Trail intel Nuvision TMAX DIGITAL,INC TM101A530L tablet, I tried plasma first because I noticed the better drivers it had on the E203M ASUS.
Plasma live mode started with all OK checks however smartmontools failed most likely because the eMMC it only got to the setup WiFi part touchpad worked out of the box I used a USB keyboard/mouse however internal WiFi failed on me and touchscreen didn’t work I couldn’t load the desktop I saw a black screen and could move the mouse around then after 5min it went black to a courser at the top left side of the screen most likely because the 1GB RAM when 2GB is needed so I moved on to Trinity.
After starting the Trinity live I was greeted with the same passing [OK] checks before I got to the the WiFi setup I got to the DPI setup which was more friendly on this device then on the previous E203M ASUS I could see the menu just fine no issues. Then I got to the WiFi setup it couldn’t find my home network only showed a few other WiFi networks around me however the plasma live found my home WiFi and many others around me so I just clicked cancel to get into the desktop. The touchpad worked in desktop so I proceeded to the installer it was very slow after I got to open the installer the tablet screen turned purple to a kernel panic.
While Q4OS basic works on this tablet, Quarkos failed.
