I have to agree with this post.
Q4OS Plasma 6.4.1 Wayland
Settings>Colours & Themes>Login Screen>Get new
I chose Sugar Candy
Install>Select and Apply
Logout
Monster on screen keyboard, everything else is a mess of huge icons.
Fortunately the (non-visible) cursor is still in the password box so log back in and revert is easy.
The problem seems to be that many of the themes available require additional libraries to support them.
I tried Sugar Candy on a different old laptop that runs EndeavourOS - Arch based - Plasma
It was also a bit of a mess but did show various Qt6 and other libraries as missing.
Even pre-installed SDDM themes didn't work.
The problem is that installing via Get new does not give you that info and the people who create them don't/cannot do any kind of dependency check on installation. even going to KDE Themes site can reveal old or out of date instructions. So, it can be a bit of a minefield.
In the end I just change the background image in the original Breeze theme - it's easier ![]()

Yes, we can confirm this bug, "Get new .." SDDM themes button doesn't work well. Apparently it's upstream Debian one, so it would be appropriate to report it for Debian developers. In anyway, thanks for the report.
