funny, KDE says I have no webcam

Hi,

another little hick-up with KDE plasma...

My MS webcam is working perfectly with cheese and guvcview, but the "camera usage indicator" in the system tray (bottom right) always shows a strikethrough indicator (no camera in use).

Upstream issue?

Best regards

T.

Re: funny, KDE says I have no webcam

I get the same with the built in camera on my old Lenovo Thinkpad E530. Camera works but nothing in the tray. Never even noticed it till you mentioned it!!!! smile

We can reproduce this on a plain Debian 13 Trixie Plasma, the default installation. Running Cheese application ok, but no camera indicator in the system tray. So we would conclude upstream issue.

Do you have any camera present in the system settings > disks and camers > digital camera module ?

Installing "kamera" package may also do the trick. Post back the result please.
