i have issues getting ksnip to work

when i try to use ksnip i get an error that says

" no image provided but one was expected "

i have no idea how to trouble shoot this program would anyone happen to know a fix or an alternative program that i could use instead

You don't give information on your system, so maybe the following is irrelevant :

Definitely not a Q4OS issue.

I'm using Spectacle without issue on Q4OS 4 / Plasma.

Are you using Wayland? If so switch to X11 on the login screen and all will be OK as per the links provided by @hchiper
