About MX Tools "Codecs Installer"

Are these codecs the same Proprietary Codecs present on Q4OS Welcome Screen?

I know MX Tools comes from MX Linux, not Q4OS component, but couldn't you somehow avoid having this entry installed if it is a duplicate of something Q4OS already offer?

Maybe by removing it during end part of the .esh installer script

The Q4OS codecs installer downloads various multimedia codecs including libdvdcss2 which enables DVD playback. MX codecs tool does the same job in a different way.

Since the MX tools project for Q4OS is experimental, this is one of the tasks that needs to be addressed. First we need to evaluate how these tools could coexist or conflict with each other and then we can update the code. If you are interested you could also check source code of this project https://github.com/q4os/mxtools-for-debian

In anyway we wouldn't recommend to install MX tools on a stable production system.
