DVD movie playback problem

Hello everyone, I need some help. I installed Q4OS on a Toshiba satellite pro 4600 with 512mb laptop.
I'll start by saying that I've never had any kind of problem with Windows 2000, but I'd like to understand why I can't watch DVD movies. Audio and video are blocked. It seems that the PC can't play movies. The player reads continuously and the CPU is at 100%.
Solutions?

Re: DVD movie playback problem

No, I started VLC, I played DVD, and the video started, but it freezes, constantly. Often the image remains constantly frozen.
Please note that I am not an expert in the Linux world.

Re: DVD movie playback problem

First try to install multimedia codecs from the software center, reboot and try to play the video.

Re: DVD movie playback problem

I installed everything, the problem remains. However I see that the system is very, very slow. Maybe it is not suitable even if you meet the minimum requirements. I have to try something lighter.

Re: DVD movie playback problem

What desktop did you install, Plasma, Trinity ? We would recommend Trinity for your machine.
