[Solved] Root account in Q4OS and changing superuser password.

Good day!
I have never changed neither root nor superuser (sudo) password in Q4OS, because I have always written them down in case I will forget them. But now I need to change my superuser password for the stronger one. So I have some questions.
I am using Q4OS 5.3 Aquarius Trinity 64-bit.
1. Is the root account locked in Q4OS 5 Aquarius just like in Ubuntu or it has its own password?
2. If the root account has password, can I change it using a command sudo passwd root?
3. Can I change my sudo password using a command sudo passwd username?
4. If the root account is unlocked, should I lock my root account using command sudo passwd -l root? Or the root account should be unlocked in Q4OS 5 Aquarius? I do not use root account at all, I use sudo -i when I want to have superuser privileges (or tdesudo kwrite to edit files).
5. Are there any characters, that can not be used in passwords? I have read, that Nerone has problems with @ character: https://www.q4os.org/forum/viewtopic.ph … 515#p25515
P.S. Yes, I know, that there are many articles in the Internet about root password, but they relate to Debian or Ubuntu or Arch...There is no specific article for Q4OS.

Before asking for help please read this topic: https://www.q4os.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=3502   If you have problems with WiFi network, try to install the Network Manager using Q4OS Software Centre.

Re: [Solved] Root account in Q4OS and changing superuser password.

1. It depends on installation method. If you install from the live media, you have been asked for root password in Calamares installer. If you have used install-cd the password is locked just like in Ubuntu.
2. Yes, you can set it the same way even if it has been locked.
3. Yes.
4. Yes, you can lock it that way, it doesn't have to be unlocked in Aquarius.
5. Yes, we recommend to use latin and numeric characters only, specifically tdesudo command has issues with non-latin passwords https://sourceforge.net/p/q4os/tickets/215/
