Speed up boot time ?

Hello, I just installed Q4OS on my old mums old PC. (she just turned 85!)
It has 2 GB of ram, no ssd. Running the latest Gemini/trinity install.

I was wondering if there is any way of speeding up the boot time by maybe disabling/unistalling startup modules and how to do that.

The only thing she needs is a modern browser (using chromium) and normal wired mouse.

I also put a "TURN OFF" shortcut to application poweroff on the desktop. Any concerns with this? Seems to work fine.

Please treat me as a newbie if referencing any commands.

The best advice I can give is to replace the HD with an SSD. This will speed up not only boot time, but also all disk accesses, including starting applications and  browser cache access. 2GB seems fine.

Q4OS machines: [Samsung R519 - Pentium T4200 2.0 GHz - 4 GB RAM - 500 GB SSD] & [Sony Vaio - Pentium P6000 1.87 GHz - 8 GB RAM - 500 GB SSD]

Re: Speed up boot time ?

I created a thread about fixing up an old dell latitude and I have greatly sped it up a ton. Some is hardware, but a lot of it is software as well.
