How to change standard applications

Hi there,
I'm a newbie and don't know much about Linux.
I have now downloaded and installed the latest version of Q4OS (Q4OS 4.12 Gemini TDE).
The installation went smoothly.
However, I don't like the standard applications, especially Konqueror.
I would like to use Krusader as a file manager, Vivaldi as a web browser and Thunderbird as an email client.
However, I don't know how or where to change this.
In particular, I would like to change the file manager.
There must be a way to open different file types like .jpg, .mp3 or .pdf with a different program and then make them the default programs?
I also want to edit the Start menu, such as deleting items or adding links to application images.
Is this possible?
Please answer in a way that even a newbie can understand.
Thanks for your help.
