Q4OS 32-bit not recognizing ESS Allegro-1 sound hardware

I'm dual booting XP and Q4OS on a Gateway 450SX4 notebook. 2.0GHz Intel P4 cpu with 512MB of RAM. During installation, Q4OS could not identify the ESS Allegro-1 sound system and disabled sound. It looks like there is a driver out there (for Debian). Is there a way to get a Q4OS compatible driver? If so, what procedure do I follow to install and load the driver and have Q4OS detect and use the sound hardware? Thanks for your time and efforts Q4OS teams and community!
