browser

Hello, I removed Google Chrome and Konqueror and Firefox esr has been automatically installed. So I tried to remove Firefox, and epiphany has been automatically installed. I tried to remove epiphany and it's not possible without reinstall firefox. I installed Falkon and I want only keep Falkon. How is it possible to manage so ? Thank your for your answer.

Re: browser

Which method did you use to do this? Is your Plasma desktop still operational?

  • Up to now, when I removed a package, it never happened any other one to be installed, and even less a package having similar functionalities.

  • Another thing is that I simulated (dry-run) konqueror removal

    $ sudo apt remove --dry-run ...

    and I saw that kde-base-apps and kde-plasma-desktop were going to be removed too, which seemed very dangerous (whence my last question above)!

In your case, I would let Konqueror as is, remove Google Chrome and Epiphany (if not already uninstalled) and install Falkon via the command-line:

$ sudo apt remove google-chrome-stable
$ sudo apt remove epiphany-browser
$ sudo apt install falkon

I guess there will be no conflict between Falkon and Konqueror.
