Partitioning question

how do i shrink my partition where i installed q4os? it says "cannot shrink, partition  is busy" and i cant shrink it using windows. Do i need another linux system to shrink this partition?

Boot from a live CD or USB. The main drive is then not loaded.

Yep, most liveCDs come with GParted by default, whic can do what you want.

I use the Mint ISO on a bootable USB for this and it's under System Tools on the default menu.

Yeah, you need to boot with a Live USB and shrink the partition with that. You can use this https://gparted.org/livecd.php It's only 400mb.
