Just fell in love with 3.8 Centaurus

Hi forum,

I have tried Q4OS already a couple of times once in a while in the past, and was never fully happy with your Plasma flavor.

But I think with 3.8 you guys have hit the middle. I dunno why, but EVERYTHING JUST WORKS!!! Whatever I throw at it, it just works like a charm!

NVIDIA drivers
xsane scanner with my Epson Perfection V30
radiotray
variety
krusader - even pre-installed!!!
VirtualBox 6.0.12
pinta
spotify (snap!!!)
Samsung Express M2675FN (over LAN!!!): printing AND scanning!!!
Canon iP7250 (over WiFi!!!)
timeshift
wine
playonlinux

I just can't believe it... better than KDE neon, KaOS and some other distros with a KDE Plasma desktop I have tried recently. Not to speak about solus... (sorry)

WELL DONE!!! KEEP GOING!!!

YEAH!

Nice installer, integrating nicely with my multi-boot system...

Re: Just fell in love with 3.8 Centaurus

Hi all.

Firstly, how do I know I'm running 3.8? Neofetch & Screenfetch just say Debian 10 Buster.

Anyway, I'm brand new here and felt I needed to agree with the OP's statement. I was on the hunt for a KDE DE as close to Debian as I could find but more newbie friendly. Strangely enough I saw a recommendation for Q4OS on the Mint forums and after trying it out am well impressed.

The installer was a breeze. The Desktop Profiler is a stroke of genius. The Excalibur menu works right off the bat. And you've even got the Oxygen theme in the repos!

Looks like I might be here to stay :-)

@Dai_trying,

I was also wondering which version Q4OS.
Thank you very much.

Re: Just fell in love with 3.8 Centaurus

The KDE version is excellent and for me preferable to actually using Debian 10 given some of the added features included.

Re: Just fell in love with 3.8 Centaurus

Could I confirm how to access Spotify with 3.8 Centaurus? I usually need to download Spotify music and songs as local files with the help of AudFree Spotify Music Converter. It's a little complicated. Please let me how to use the Spotify app directly?

Use the "qrepoadd" command to add Spotify repository, and then install "spotify-client-qt" package, see https://www.q4os.org/dqa007.html#extrepo
