Lenovo 320S - Liteon Hard Drive

Been playing with the LIVE version. Love it. Have partitiondrive, but Q4OS does not seem to recognise the drive nor support the
touchpad.

Any suggestions?

Re: Lenovo 320S - Liteon Hard Drive

When you say Q4OS doesn't recognise the drive do you mean you can't find it? or you have tried to mount it and it failed? or have you tried the installer and that failed?

Touch-pad issues are quite rare, but it might be that you would need some additional firmware or maybe it just needs the updated kernel (which you would get when you run updates after installation), or on even rarer occasions you might need an even newer kernel which could be installed after you have the system installed. Or it could be another issue, I recall seeing another post that had touch-pad issues and will put a link to it when I find it.

Touchpad, is not a major issue  as a USB mouse works fine. But, yup after install - find some drivers.

After going through to start an install, it asks for a drive and the only one shown is the USB dongle. Tried it twice now, works
fine from Live-Drive just can't install it.

It's a late model 320s hard drive reports as Liteon CA1 - 8D128

Got Q4OS on an ancient Tosh with an SSD - works fine.

Re: Lenovo 320S - Liteon Hard Drive

Have you opened GParted from the live session to see if that picks up your HDD? I can't understand why it wouldn't see any HDD even if it was formatted to an uninstallable format it should still at least see it...

If GParted doesn't see any HDD's could you (from the live session) install inxi and post the output of inxi -D in case that shows anything.

Re: Lenovo 320S - Liteon Hard Drive

I'll try that. Been over on the UBUNTU forum, seems there is an issue with EFI/UEFI  and the setup of the disk.

Can switch it to ACHI (I think) in the bios but that crashes windows, but will work.  So looks like an reinstall of both or even just the one.

I'll try with Gparted later this evening - however same problem occurs with a UBUNTU live CD - so guess it's a Lenovo/Liteon issue.

Re: Lenovo 320S - Liteon Hard Drive

Problem solved. Changed BIOS settings to Intel Driver and it worked perfectly - hard drive done.

Also changed 'virtual settings' to allow Virtual Box

Trackpad - solved using xorg drivers - changed settings and now two finger scrolling and single click work. Not found a GUI solution yet, but editing of .conf files worked.

Thanks for your help.
