No sound

After trying to install some packages yesterday and failing due to broken dependencies, I've just notice I have no sound. Not sure if trying install the packages had anything to do with the problem. I'm using Scorpion. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Update: I got it working again by changing the settings in kmix. For some reason all the options in the switches tab were turned off. No idea why, this has never happened before.

Re: No sound

Glad you got it working, and 9 times out of 10 its going to be an issue with kmix settings. Unintentional muting is the one I see the most.

Re: No sound

I would like to add that I have solved my mysterious problems with no sound by installing pulseaudio.

Re: No sound

Pulseaudio is pretty much a requirement these days but older hardware that has issues with Pulseaudio many times is running ALSA and thus no sound.
