For reading multiple page PDF's and doing word searches which app would you recommend?
Am using Okula but noticed on install many dependencies. Would Evince have done the trick for casual reading of PDF's?
Or maybe qpdfviewer might work just as well but have less requirements?
Which has the best features but the smallest footprint?
Thanks!

I use kpdf-trinity which is probably one of the smaller footprint packages and it does what I need it to do (simply viewing pdf's). I can't remember the exact installation requirements but I'm sure it was one of the smaller ones, and I think it works well.

I'm happy with evince.
If size is an issue, I checked the properties of these in synaptic:
1176 kB - qpdfview
1223 kB - evince
2787 kB - kpdf-trinity
6223 kB - okula
I've only ever used evince. Sizing, searching, and smooth scrolling is all I really need and evince does the job for me. The thumbnail pane is handy and easy to collapse when not needed.

Thanks. Is it possible to also calculate the size of the related deps?
Perhaps there is a case for another option in desktop profiler, for a lightweight set of office apps?
Was also thinking about a choice of WM or Desktop. I realise that a lot of work goes into Trinity but
a base version with a choice of say i3, Openbox or Trinity [fetched at install time] could be interesting
and make for a super small distro.

Thanks to advice on his thread http://www.q4os.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=1271
I have removed Okular and tried out qpdfview and evince
I'm sticking with evince

I just checked on a fresh install and approx install size with dependencies is as follows
2.7 Mb - kpdf-trinity
24.9 Mb - qpdfview
32.8 Mb - okula
35.0 Mb - evince
I got this information from a script I wrote a long time ago and without going through all the code again IIRC it only includes dependencies that are not already installed.
I am only adding it here to show the dependency sizes which as you can see make quite a difference to the overall install size, even okular which individually comes in a stack heavier than the others comes out comparable in overall install size, and obviously kpdf-trinity comes in smallest as the trinity framework is already installed.

@ Dia
Good info! I should know better, each package will require pulling in dependencies.
Cheers!
