Error during intallation

Trying to install Q4OS on my ThinkPad S540. Installation from USB-3 stick to Samsung T3 SSD (USB-C).

Always results in an error during partitioning (Automatic install option).

Any help will be very much appreciated!

If the screenshot is not showing, the error is:
Installation failed
The installer failed to make partition on disk........
Create new partition (300.00 MiB, fat32) on '/dev/sdb'
Job: Create new partition on device '/dev/sdb'
Failed to add partition 'New Partition' to device '/dev/sdb'.

Samssung SSD is brand new!

Unfortunately, I don't have an answer to your problem, but it seems strange that the automatic installation tries to create a fat32 partition. Did you retry to install?

If the SSD has never been used, I would use Gparted from the Q4OS boot media to create a partition table on the SSD. One thing bothers me. You say the SSD is connected via USB-C. Is there are hard drive in the laptop as well? If so the SSD would probably be /dev/sdc - so you need to make doubly sure you know what drive is what.

Thanks for looking at my problem!
The laptop has no internal HD. Samsung SSD is connected via USB-3, not C.
It seems to be a problem with this particular version of Calamares installer.

You can also try to use the "install-cd" https://www.q4os.org/downloads1.html , as it features Debian installer instead of Calamares. It'll be possible to install Plasma desktop using Deskop profiler. Yo're welcome to post back a result here.
