Need help with Konsole/Password

Hi, so I am trying to install steam, but for whatever reason, the konsole won't let me type the password, and thus be able to install it. It will let me type whatever else when it is not asking me for the password, like I will be able to use sudo and other commands, but when ever the password is required, it simply won't let me type. Any help will be greatly appreciated. I have the newest version of Trinity installed by the way.

What do you mean exactly by "konsole won't let me type the password"? Do you get any error message?

Re: Need help with Konsole/Password

When sudo asks for the password, the password's characters are not echoed. Maybe this is what makes you believe you are not able to type it. Just type your password on the keyboard, without expecting anything to be displayed on your screen, and hit enter.

Ok that seemed to be right, thanks for that. However now I get this error: "bash line 1 kdpkg command not found". I should mention I am a new user to this version of Debian, I used to use Ubuntu YEARS ago.

Did you use a bash script to install?
In this case, preferably use

$ sudo apt install steam

You have encountered a Trinity bug, it's already on our bug list. You can install packages in terminal or using "gdebi" tool.

Bumping this topic. Just as a heads-up, Attempting to install Steam from the Q4OS Software Center throws an error which causes the download to fail. Installing it via sudo apt install steam works however.
