Hi !
Neither sudo Konsole nor ordinary respond to password
What to do?
Is there any remedy for it?
Please help !

The password is not displayed when you type it in the Konsole after a sudo. No asterisks neither. It's normal behavior.

No any reaction after attempt to type asked password as if konsole rejects contact
while "sudo apt-get update" goes without problem
What to do?

You need to be member of administrative "sudo" group. If so, just enter your user password and press "enter" key to run the command. Anyway, we recommend to use "apt" instead of lower level "apt-get" command.

sudo kcmodules --unlock"

konsole asks password
on attempt to type password konsole remains unresponsive and not a letter appears
while sudo apt-get -say- update is readily accepted
In one instance "sudo........." is accepted immediately and no password is asked
in the other no any reaction follows from konsole as if it is completely disconnected

As has been said above, when you enter the password for a sudo command it is not echoed to the screen. No stars, no cursor movement, nothing.

That does not mean it has not been accepted.

Moreover, the sudo password is cached for 30 minutes. So any subsequent sudo command will 'just work' provided it is within 30 minutes.

It is puzzling at first - but you'll get the hang of it. You can reduce the sudo timeout or remove it if you wish. That will make it behave as you might expect but still no echo.

We recommend you to use "apt", as it's more user oriented, higher level command. As @bin mentioned above, you will not see the password echo on the screen, just type it and press Enter. The apt-get command is the only exception in Q4OS for the sake of automated installers. If you successfully login to a desktop environment as a member of sudo group, you will be allowed to run it, under sudo command only and as a member of sudo group only, without the need of entering your password. We assume this exception could be removed in Q4OS Gemini before it becomes stable.
