Re: Q4OS on Dell Chromebook

Should do good on that laptop.  I don't think you would have any problem installing it.

Try the live usb and see if it finds all your hardware.  If it does, go for it.

Yes, the specs are more than sufficient. Can someone confirm hardware compatibility?

Re: Q4OS on Dell Chromebook

I've got an Asus with similar CPU & RAM (N3060 & 4Gb of soldered RAM, 32Gb disk, same screen resolution) and Q4OS Trinity is working fine on it (much much better than every OS I tried, including differents flavours of win & chrome os flex)

I have 8 GB working on Trinity. But I would like to ask you to change the system requirements for Trinity. I tested it, a system with a browser needs 2 GB .So I would like to forgive you, change the system requirements on the site

and the last question. In general, is 8 GB suitable for the version with Trinity?

Sorry, but you are wrong. The first time I installed Q4OS my laptop had 2 GB RAM and the browser ran correctly.
Also note that q4osteam question was about hardware compatibility.

Yes, more than sufficient, read above.

Absolutely not. I tested Q4OS Trinity on a very old system with only 1.5 Gb of ram, and it is working fine, and you can use Chrome browser / libre office and lots of classic desktop apps without any problem. I installed it on several other very old laptops with only 1Gb Ram, everything is fine too.  It is one of the advantages of running Q4OS Trinity, you can use it on very low specs systems. So, I don't know why you are saying this..?

By the way, I don't mean any disrespect, but I don't know why you're keeping asking the same set of questions too ("is my computer specs ok to run Q4os ?" You already had the answer: it is more than sufficient, period.)

Thank you.

The CPU, memory and even disk space are enough, I have a few computers running the Plasma version on such hardware. Normal stuff like surfing and streaming are ok, and you can even play some simple games. But the problem with Chromebooks is that some of their other hardware like keyboard, trackpad and sound might not have the right drivers. They might need some fiddling or at worst they might not work at all. You won't know before trying, unless you can find someone else who have tried Linux on that exact model.

And don't forget to install (by apt) the zram-tools meta package from the Debian repos. It'll do good with the limited memory and disk space.
