All Application Installations Fail

First off (and I hate to be that guy): but I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing. I know my way around a computer well enough, but this is my 1st experience with linux. When the help says "open terminal" my next step is to google "how to open terminal in q4os".

I'm trying to breathe life into an old Lenovo s10, Intel Atom processor, probably 15-16 years old. There aren't a lot of lightweight 32-bit linux distros left to choose from, and out of the various ones I tried, Q4OS is the only one to work so far.

My main problem right now is that any application I try to install fails with "simulation not successful, sorry, I cannot install now". The 2nd to last line of the installation log window always reads "E: Unable to locate package q4os-<whatever I'm trying to install>"

I've tried googling and researching but, let's face it, there's not a lot of Q4OS info out there.

Any ideas?

Re: All Application Installations Fail

What application do you try to install and how do you try that?
