Q4OS trinity randomly desn't see drives plugged into USB

When I connect some usb drive to the computer it sometimes (rarely) doesn't read it (doesn't see it at all) on a particular port, but after reconnecting it on a different port it does, although lately it doesn't see a healthy card connected to the sd port despite several attempts to remove and put it back in. I'm using a Thinkpad t470

Re: Q4OS trinity randomly desn't see drives plugged into USB

Connect your USB drive, and run in Konsole command lsusb. It will show all connected USB devices (including your mouse if you use it on your notebook). If your USB drive is not shown, then it is probably a hardware issue. Also, post here the output of lsusb command.

Before asking for help please read this topic: https://www.q4os.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=3502   If you have problems with WiFi network, try to install the Network Manager using Q4OS Software Centre.

Re: Q4OS trinity randomly desn't see drives plugged into USB

You could try running

udevadm monitor

and see if anything shows up when plugging/unplugging usb devices, sometimes it can show useful information. If you plug in a usb device and it doesn't display anything then I would suspect a dodgy connector either on the machine side or the device itself. Make sure usb port and usb device are clean,

P.s. when running the above command press Ctrl+C to end monitoring.

Re: Q4OS trinity randomly desn't see drives plugged into USB

I reinstall the kernel and it works. The problem lies in "safe unplugging" in Trinity. Drivers unplugged with this method are usually not recognized until you repair them with Windows.
