Update question

Still new to q4os and I have some questions about updates. I noticed in the Plasma version of q4os, the update manager is not installed. Is Discover used in lieu of an update manager? Also, in the terminal or "Konsole" I typed sudo apt update && apt upgrade, entered my password, and got the following errors:

E: Could not open lock file /var/lib/dpkg/lock-frontend - open (13: Permission denied)
E: Unable to acquire the dpkg frontend lock (/var/lib/dpkg/lock-frontend), are you root?

What am I doing wrong?

Re: Update question

If you had Discover running that would be a factor.

Re: Update question

I get the same error and Discover is not installed.
The 2nd command needs sudo too. This worked for me:

$ sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade

Q4OS machines: [Samsung R519 - Pentium T4200 2.0 GHz - 4 GB RAM - 500 GB SSD] & [Sony Vaio - Pentium P6000 1.87 GHz - 8 GB RAM - 500 GB SSD]

Re: Update question

Thanks hchiper, adding the extra sudo worked.
