[SOLVED] Recompile Kernel

I have installed latest q4os 32 bit.

I want to recompile kernel making some changes.

Can anyone help on how to recompile it?

I can see the conf file in /boot directory. I want to make some changes there and recompile it.

Hello. If you want to recompile kernel, check this https://kernel-team.pages.debian.net/kernel-handbook/

No, Q4OS uses the default vanilla Debian kernel.

Re: [SOLVED] Recompile Kernel

Recompiling takes a huge time on Via C7-D 1.6ghz  single core processor

In the mean time, I installed mx kernel which comes with config_hz 1000 and also installed debian kernel from backports 6.1

the 6.1 kernel is visibly faster and Debian is going to include it in their Debian 12 as standard kernel.

So I am happy using 6.1 from backports. After mxlinux also create theor own 6.1 kernel woth 1000 hz will let know the results.

as of now am happy using 6.1  kernel from debian backports.

Re: [SOLVED] Recompile Kernel

You can install Debian backports kernel including matching firmware easily in Q4OS, see https://www.q4os.org/dqa011.html#system.6

Re: [SOLVED] Recompile Kernel

Done that by adding debian  backports repository.
