Support for new hardware

I have just got a new LENOVO laptop (mid Feb 2023). I am trying to get Trinity 4.11 to run on it. I have got most things going, leaving power management, wifi and touch pad to get working. My researches suggest That I should upgrade the kernel from the current v5.10 to v6.1 . Is this practical? If so How?
