MP3 player problems

When I plug in my mp3 player no window opens, although the device is recognized according to lsusb. Any ideas what the problem might be? I have MX linux on another computer and there are no problems there.

Re: MP3 player problems

Ok, can anyone tell me how to open the mp3 player manually, since auto doesn't work?

Re: MP3 player problems

Well, there are a lot of mp3 players on the market. They use different protocols and right now we don't have a lot to go on.
My guess is that it is an MTP device.
In that case I would install gmtp mtp-tools jmtpfs gvfs-backends
Something like VLC or Kaffeine should handle the playlist, possibly Deadbeef or Clementine.

Sorry - I don't have and never have had one of these but I hope the above is of some help.
