TRINITY BASIC
Here are my findings testing the Live USB to full installation on a E203M ASUS Notebook PC.
After the "Welcome to Ubuntu", I got a long list of [ OK ] checks nothing failed.
I did run into some issues during the initial setup, a menu popped up asking me to set the DPI. However, the window was so massive and blown-out that I couldn't click the buttons to configure it. I had to wait until I got to the desktop, went into the Control Panel, and manually changed the DPI to 96. At the initial setup screen (where you add Wi-Fi), the touchpad did not work at all. However, the second the system finished loading and booted all the way into the desktop, it woke up and started working fine. Internal Wi-Fi and sound however worked out of the box no issues.
After testing Live Mode, I went ahead with the full installation. I then chose Basic with no swap the installer copied all files to my eMMC drive and finished the setup smoothly with no errors. Once it reboot for the first time I got the same long list of [OK] checks however I ran into the same DPI and touchpad issues. I also wanted to point out at the sign in screen the touchpad doesn’t work but wakes up after booting into desktop.
Now that Quarkos all setup I ended up configuring it I installed ufw and zram first thing then went on to firefox I played youtube videos and had no issues the system is very fast, responsive and stable so far. Issues happened with using the network GUI to set my DNS to 1.1.1.3 so I had to bypass using the terminal sudo nano /etc/systemd/resolved.conf tested DNS filtering works now!
PLASMA BASIC
I decided I wanted to do a dual boot of Trinity and Plasma on my E203M ASUS,
When I first booted into the Plasma live mode I was greeted with the same Welcome to Ubuntu message and many [OK] checks however one failed, smartmontools. Once I booted into the set up wifi everything worked out of the box including the touchpad and no DPI issues I tested the WIFI, sound and Bluetooth it all worked out of the box as well.
I then went on to the installer and selected the alongside option and used the default 50/50 storage setting I went with basic again once it was done installing successfully I rebooted into grub with both options,
Quarkos 26.04 Resolute
Ubuntu 26.04 LTS (26.04) (on /dev/mmcblkp2)
I chose Quarkos 26.04 Resolute it booted the same way with everything working out of the box (DPI, WIFI, BT, sound) however smartmontools still failed during the [OK] checks (most likely because of the eMMC). After that was all settled I moved on to firefox and went on youtube everything went well streaming and changing to Cloudflare DNS worked in the GUI on this edition, overall system was very fast and responsive no lag or freezes.
I then rebooted and chose the 2nd option Ubuntu 26.04 LTS (26.04) (on /dev/mmcblkp2) Trinity booted just fine with no issues and no time confusion what has been a headache for me in the past with dual booting.
I am keeping both environments installed on the E203M to monitor long-term performance and battery life. I will update the report if any "day-to-day" bugs appear.
