[solved] Control-Center -> Appearance & Themes

Hi, here is messed up something:
If i open the  Control-Center -> Appearance & Themes and then double-click eg. the "Colors" item: kWrite opens a large system file. How can i correct this?
Thank you!

This suggests it is no longer set as executable but without knowing what you've done to your (presumably TDE) system it's anyone's guess.
Alternatively you've messed with your user groups, or a host of other things.

Re: [solved] Control-Center -> Appearance & Themes

Hello bin,
yes it's TDE, but i can't remember to have set the apps in "settings:/LookNFeel/" as not executable.
Doble-click on "Background" opens the file "background.desktop" in kWrite.
Doble-click on "Colors" opens "colors.desktop" in kWrite.
Doble-click on "Look switcher" opens "kcm_lookswitcher.desktop" in kWrite.
But i can start LookSwitcher from the Start-Menu!
It seems that ".desktop" links are faultly associated with kWrite!?

Re: [solved] Control-Center -> Appearance & Themes

Can you open anything in Control Centre or do they all give you the same result?

Are you running Control Centre from the menu or have you tried to create a shortcut on the desktop?

Can you link this change in behaviour to any particular point in time - any updates etc?

Have you been editing any .desktop files on your system?

Re: [solved] Control-Center -> Appearance & Themes

I could resolve the issue now by eliminating the entry of "kWrite" in the MIME-Types for ".desktop" in konqueror.

There's a link to a shellscript on my desktop and i remember that i wanted to edit this script with kwrite: right-click on desktop-item, open with app, chosed kwrite... But it seems that the system thought i want to edit the .desktop-link file. What missunderstanding...
