TDESUDO does not accept password

After a fresh installation, I login to my user account. Then, when I try to do an administrative task, like starting synaptic, TDESUDO does not accept my password.

I restarted the system in recovery mode with /bin/bash option and created a (new) root password. From there I redefined my user password as well.

Still, TDESUDO does not accept the password. Is there a way to fix this?

Re: TDESUDO does not accept password

We are not able to reproduce the issue. Please specify:
- type of installation - live/install cd
- keyboard layout/localization

Please try to temporarily change your password to a simple, one character, password in terminal:
$ sudo passwd
Next, run in terminal:
$ sudo -k
$ tdesudo 'echo test'
and paste output here to analyze.

Re: TDESUDO does not accept password

Oops, found the problem. During installation, I accidentally selected UK keyboard layout instead of US. Fortunately, changing the layout is not an administrative task.

Re: TDESUDO does not accept password

Are you certain you are typing the correct password? Also is there a caps lock on (or off)? I have checked a couple of my systems and they all work correctly with a tdesudo command. One thing that might be a problem is if you do not have admin rights (user not in sudo file) you can check this in control centre or try adding a new user to see if the problem exists for that user too Q4OS Documentation can help with creating new user

Yes, I was typing the correct password, but with a UK keyboard layout. I found out because in the terminal SU did not accept my root password either. Changing back to US keyboard layout fixed the problem.
