Some problems with keyboard.

Hi I used Q4OS for 1 month, love it so much. And now some issues that I can't search how to fix on the internet.

1. My laptop is HP 8460p. My Fn key only work on:

Fn + F3: suspend

Fn+ F6, F7: I can adjust volume but i want a volume bar appear while pressing the key.

And no more Fn keys work, so i can't adjust the brightness without TDEpowersave .

I can't take screen shot without KSnapshot too. KSnapshot is too bad for me sad

Keyboard shotcut of Konsole is Ctrl+T, like "Open new tab" on Chrome, cant fint how to change it sad

As far as we know volume bar is not available for Trinity desktop.

We will try to check, if there is any possible option and let you know, if so.

Press 'printscreen' key to grab a screenshot to the clipboard, then right click on the desktop and select "Paste Clipboard Contents" and then select a filename to save it to.

Go to -> Control panel -> Regional and Accessibility -> Keyboard shortcuts -> Command shortcuts tab -> and define your command shortcuts.

Re: Some problems with keyboard.

I have a similar issue, although TDEpowersave  shows in my case that the screen brightness can not be adjusted

Works fine in windows 10 and each *Unbuntu distro (16.4.x 16.10)..

The laptop is a Mi Notebook Air 12"

let me know if I need to generate any logs / reports... I really like this distro and wanted to start using it for my team, as the laptop only comes with Chinese windows license, which is useless to us ..

Please run the following command in terminal to generate debug files:
$ reportq4
and send it via e-mail support@q4os.org or attach it here to analyze. You can add attachment by 'post reply -> choose file'

Re: Some problems with keyboard.

If you run the command in Konsole/Terminal it shows you where the file has been created.

robin@poppy:~$ reportq4
Report is saved in file: "/home/robin/Documents/qreport.tar.gz"
robin@poppy:~$

If you did it by going Menu>Run>qreport4 it will be in the same place.

Re: Some problems with keyboard.

Just out of interest, have you tried with the Scorpion Live CD - much later kernel than Orion - closer to 'buntu 16.04 etc?

Re: Some problems with keyboard.

The other place to look with Q4OS will be in ACPI.
In Synaptic make sure you have the following installed:-
acpi
acpi-fakekey
acpi-support   comments show this * On some laptops, set screen brightness.
acpi-support-base
acpid

Follow that with a reboot

I think that installing acpi or acpi-support will pick the others up but that's what you need to wind up with. I have these installed to keep thermal info correct - stops fans overspeeding.
