Re: Translations

Yes, you are welcome. Please check this Github repository https://github.com/q4osteam/q4os-i18n . The Italian strings to translate are in the "q4os-tools/it/" directory. If you would need any assistance please ask here.

Re: Translations

Thanks, any contribution is highly appreciated. There is the "q4os-i18n" project available on the GitHub here https://github.com/q4osteam/q4os-i18n . If you are familiar with Git, you are welcome to directly contribute here. Just post your Github username, we will add related permissions for you. You could also download the project tarball, unpack it and modify the relevant ".po" files.

It's been a while since I last used poedit, but I can help with Spanish. smile

Re: Translations

I finished the Spanish .po files. I thought I could just PM @q4osteam and send the files but there's no such an option so... I don't know... if you need them... let me know how...

Re: Translations

New version of localization package "q4os-i18n", with the Spanish translations provided by @Tolkem included, is now available for Q4OS Centaurus as well as for Gemini. You only need to perform system update from repositories as usual to get new translations active.
Thanks to all who are helping with translations.

Re: Translations

Hello, I would be happy to improve the Italian translations. I am completely new to translations of linux projects, so could you briefly explain the basic steps to follow? Thank you!

Re: Translations

Thank you. Helping with Q4OS translations to any language is highly appreciated. The best and most easy way is to contribute to our 'q4os-i18n' project. We have published 'q4os-i18n' Git project here: https://github.com/q4osteam/q4os-i18n

If anyone want to help, there are two ways:

1. If you are familiar with 'Git' collaboration tool, please register at https://github.com/ , let us know and we will set a permissions for you to directly contribute in the Git tree. We could easily synchronize our work with the Git tool.

2. Alternatively, you can simply download archive with all translation files here: https://github.com/q4osteam/q4os-i18n/a … master.zip .
Find all files for language specific translations "somefile-xx.po" and translate related '.po' files using 'poedit' application. You will send finished via e-mail develop@q4os.org

Re: Translations

Thank you for the kind explanation. I'd choose alternative 2, since I'm not familiar with Git collaboration tool yet. I downloaded Poedit and it seems fairly easy to use.

In the future, I'll also learn how to collaborate with Git, but for now I prefer to go step by step.

I will send the Italian folder by email. Have a good weekend!

Re: Translations

The new Italian translations are now available in the official Q4OS repositories. You only need to update your system to check it out:
$ sudo apt update
$ sudo apt dist-upgrade

Re: Translations

Very good! Thank you!
I checked now and I recognise some of the translations.
Still, a bit of work can be done since not everything is translated yet. When i get some time, i’ll work on the TDE project side translating things from there, so that they should get updated also in q4os, right?
Have a good Sunday,
Fiflagar

Just to say that the Portuguese(pt) translations are up to date.
I did a new review of all the .po files today.

Re: Translations

I tested the new 4.6 Gemini version

The portuguese translations have not been updated... at least not in calamares.

Re: Translations

The translations have been updated in the Q4OS repositories, you can check them as soon as you update and restart the system. Calamares will be updated in a few weeks as new Gemini media is released. A feedback would be welcome, thanks for contributing.

Re: Translations

Hello
just noticed there is a bad mistake on the french welcome screen . Can you pass this for correction ?  Thanks

Bottom of the screen stands  AFFICHIER  instead of AFFICHER  :-)
