Q4OS Centaurus 3.6, testing

An updated image of the Q4OS 3 Centaurus testing live media is available for download https://www.q4os.org/downloads2.html , now in version "3.6". It now features the most recent Trinity stable release 14.0.6, please see https://wiki.trinitydesktop.org/Release … or_R14.0.6. Apart from that, a few fixes and security patches have been included.

You are welcome to download live media images for testing directly from here:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/q4os/files/testing/
"q4os-3.6-x64.r1.iso" ... Plasma live media
"q4os-3.6-x64-tde.r1.iso" ... Trinity live media

Q4OS Centaurus 3.6 is based on the current Debian 'Buster' development, Plasma 5.14, and Trinity desktop 14.0.6 stable branches. All the updates are immediately available for existing Q4OS Centaurus users from the regular Q4OS repositories. Keep in mind we don't recommend to use testing versions in production environments.

Re: Q4OS Centaurus 3.6, testing

Hi,

thanks for the updated version. Concerning the keyboard issue, I have tried to dig a bit deeper. During Login you are asked which language you prefer. If you select German the keyboard is set to German (not Swiss German but that's okay). In Calamaris Installer the testing field works now as expected, but after starting the installation the keyboard in the live environment gets reset to US English.

I have also noticed that all original Debian wallpapers are not displayed correctly when you select one of them as a background image (they start with Debian xxx in the background selection dialog).

Full Desktop Profile installation now works as expected.

Mouse coursor is different in TDM than on the desktop (which was also the case for Scorpion). Can be fixed globally by setting default cursor in /usr/share/icons/default/index.theme:

[icon theme]
Inherits=cursor_theme_name

But I guess you are aware of that wink

Greetings
Marcus

We can confirm that for "TZ" layout, will be fixed.

We are not able to reproduce, please describe in more detail.

Yes, we can confirm that, it's on our bug list.

Do like the 3rd "alternative" on menu but can't seem to be able to switch out after.

HP printers were recognized and installed out of the box, even an Ethernet one!

DELL Optiplex 7060 - 8G RAM.

You can switch over menu types in the Welcome screen, please see https://www.q4os.org/dqa011.html#desktop.5
