excessive consumption of RAM
I installed q4os 1.4 on a Acer TravelMate 650 with 768 mb ram. I think that consume too much memory at startup: 350/360 MB. With debian squeeze (gnome 2.32) consumption was about 160 mb. being a pc so dated and not very powerful, the difference is huge ... I tried to install bum but the started services are minimal ... what can I do to ease the system?

it's not a probleme of TDE ... i installed icewm and the consuption of ram is about 310/320 mb ...

Q4OS with 'Basic Desktop profile' applied should take about 120MB RAM after fresh installation.
