[SOLVED] Problem with Oswald Google Font render

Dears, good morning.

I use in one of my projects the Oswald Google Font in a theme for Wordpress.

The font can be viewed at: https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Oswald

However I am facing a curious problem with Q4OS. Simply the theme presents a problem in viewing webfonts when accessing with Q4OS. Both in Firefox and Chromium, where fonts are not even displayed. In Chrome the fonts even appear, but in a strange and contracted way.

In Windows, Ubuntu, Mint and Android, the Oswald font is displayed perfectly, without any problem.

I do not know if this issue is because of Q4OS or Debian itself...

If anyone has any suggestions, I appreciate it.

Greetings!

Re: [SOLVED] Problem with Oswald Google Font render

I discovered the issue.

It looks like Debian uses an older version of the FreeType package (2.6) and needs to be upgraded to 2.8 or higher. Currently the last version is 2.10.

How could I do this update? Synaptic does not work...

Re: [SOLVED] Problem with Oswald Google Font render

Solved in Firefox.

I update the FreeType packages from this .deb files:

https://packages.debian.org/buster/freetype2-demos
https://packages.debian.org/buster/libfreetype6

And now the Oswald google font render is OK in Firefox!
