Display Hostname or current partition label on desktop or TDE panel ?

I am creating a tutorial for installing all three profiles on a hard drive in own partition.

sda1 = pure install

sda2 = basic profile

sda3 = desktop profie

Is there a way to display the hostname automatically in TDE control bar or on desktop ?

or can this be done with a bash script in Autoload menu ?

If not, I would just make some cool wallpager that shows the matching profile name that they a user can install to same profile configuration.

These wallpaper can be branded with links to Q4OS Homepage | Q4OS Forum | Q4OS Learning Portal (My Site) & a Donate Link for "Please Support Q4OS Development"

Thanks,

Bobby

Re: Display Hostname or current partition label on desktop or TDE panel ?

I have my hostname shown on my desktop using conky as you can (almost) see on my screenshot shown here https://www.q4os.org/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=651#p651

In case you can't see it I located it at the top of the screen just above the Remote Ip on the connections info (blurred out for privacy).

It's not on the menubar, but it is a great way to have all sorts of info on your desktop.
