No Sound On My System--

I have installed N U M E R O U S versions of Linux over the years and cannot figure out for the life of me WHY this OS is any different?

My system is a DELL Opti-Plex 760 with all Intel built in. There should be No reason for sound to not work.

I have gone through all of the settings and everything that needs to be checked or implemented seems to be.

What do I need to do?

Re: No Sound On My System--

None of it worked.
I'm likely going to hop to another distro.

Re: No Sound On My System--

Q4OS is based on Debian, so if audio would work on a plain Debian installation, it should be possible to get it to work on Q4OS as well. If you would still want a further assistance, please provide output of the following terminal commands:

$ artsplay /opt/trinity/share/sounds/KDE_Startup.wav
$ artsshell terminate
$ aplay /opt/trinity/share/sounds/KDE_Startup.wav

Re: No Sound On My System--

Im running Q4OS Orion 1.88 and Scorpion 2.4 on Dell 760s right now with no issues.  Pulseaudio is installed and working fine. K3b works fine but you could also use xfburn or brasero.   In my case the sound was muted and I didnt notice it but after correcting everything was fine

Sound was muted on my Latitude E6510 (intel audio) by default as well.  And had to actually open the mixer and change the "audio card" to see it, the default sound bar in kmix gui was NOT muted.
